First visit to heaven

In the beginning of April it was finally time for me to head down to Maclear in the Eastern Cape. A place I've always dreamt of visiting but had never been lucky enough to do so, until now.

The drive down from Johannesburg in itself was amazing, crossing the Kraai river and driving over the southern end of the Drakensberg Mounains. Such an amzing part of South Africa.

I stayed at Woodcliffe Country House, what an amazing place it is. A beautiful farm with 10km of the famous Little Pot river, what more could a flyfisherman ask for.

Cold, crystal clear waters absolutely teeming with wild Rainbow trout.
This beauty came out of that spot up against the far bank in the picture, there was no doubt in my mind that there was at least one fish holding there, it came up to #18 Para-Adams.

Fishing dry-n-dropper got me a few doubles that day, simply amazing.

The most beautiful fish that I saw come out of that river over the 6 days was caught by Marcel:

Maclear, and more specifically, Woodcliffe Country House are places I hope to visit many more times in the not too distant future!
